Polaris 280 Goes In Circles
If your Polaris 280 Automatic Pool Cleaner is constantly going in circles and not effectively cleaning the swimming pool, there are a few very simple reasons this could be happening. The following troubleshooting tips will help to find this problem.
Cleaner Bag is Full - The first thing to check is the polaris pool cleaner bag
. If it full with debris it will make the Polaris 280 ride on it's rear wheel and go in circles.
Head Float is Cracked and Filled with Water - remove the polaris head float
from the Polaris 280 cleaner. If you shake it and it feels like it is filled with water, you have found the problem. Simply replace it and the cleaner should start working again.
Pool Toys Stuck in the Wheels
- while the filter is off, remove the pool cleaner from the pool and make sure there are not any pool toys stuck in the wheels or in the mouth of the cleaner.
Wheel(s) Need to be Replaced
- check the
Polaris 280 wheels
to make sure the teeth are not worn down. It is real easy to visually inspect the wheels. If the teeth on the inside of the wheels are worn down or any of the teeth are broken, they might not be engaging the gears that turn the cleaner.
If the above tips don't help solve the problem of the Polaris 280
pool going in circles, there are a number of other mechanical reasons that might cause this problem. Call the local swimming pool store or service professional and ask for help.
